Shouldn't I Be Writing?
2003-11-07 15:48
by Will Carroll

This blog might have to go in the lockdown with "Ghost Recon" if I don't get busting on the writing ... I'm going to have writeapalooza next week and not leave Starbucks until I'm up near 20k words.

Anyway, iTunes has some more of my money and I have two great albums I'll share with you. Uncle Tupelo's "Anodyne" and Whiskeytown's "Pneumonia" are both classics of the poorly named alt.country movement ... and parting shots from both bands. UT split and became Son Volt (now Jay Farrar solo) and one of the best bands in the world, Wilco. Ryan Adams of Whiskeytown has been the "hot prospect" of music for a couple years now, especially after his fluky success with "New York New York". Still, well worth checking out on iTunes.
