Someone please, please explain this to me.
On second thought ...
(Seriously ... you have to hang through the whole thing. I mean, Carl working out ISN'T the bizarre part ...)
"What Carl lacks in talent, he makes up for with a prodigous Freak Show Factor."
"Sure, Eddie Murphy did the same sort of thing, but was his music video in a gym? Did an old lady in giant sunglasses and a bathing suit blow bubbles on him before joining him in a hottub? Even if he'd had this old lady with him, would he have escorted her into the privacy of the sauna room while placing a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door that was in both English AND French? No, sir, I think we have that market all to ourselves."
"Please give him a job. He's holding my mother hostage."
Yet oddly catchy.
#1) how in the world, in July of 2005, do you stumble across this?
#2) The lady with the sunglasses...I don't know, either, but I have a theory and it involves allusions to Richard Simmons.
Lewis is just plain nuts.
Look at the low production value. He's trying to make some seventh grade statement that all human beings need contact, even ones that may seem to be the farthest from our own personal 'type'. (Black, young, super athlete...white, old, overweight female.) Incredibly juvenile and sick, frankly.
If anything, you may have hit it on the head in your second paragraph, he's just nutso.
To the extent any message was intended, I think it's a very kooky rejection of the notion that working out is only for people who are already ripped. "I think you're beautiful because you're working out." Which would essentially be Richard Simmons with a gold medal.
Deep deep stuff.
