OH. MY. GOD.

Sometimes, you don't just see something at a baseball game that you've never seen before, you see something no one has ever seen before. Thank you, Hambone.

(UPDATE: Anyone seen Jamey Newberg? I'm worried about him. His heart might not be able to take this.)

Good Grrruh. Screw Roy Hobbs, this kid really is the Natural. It's why baseball movies can only hope to replicate the thrill we get from the real deal. Man, that kid is blessed with some serious kind of gift. The back wall of the bleachers? Are you kidding me? Jeezus.

OH. MY. GOD

Pretty much.

I still can't figure out who plays him in the movie.

Thomas Jane.

Or this dude from Band of Brothers: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0191044/

3 Hah, yeah, the latter was the dude I kept thinking was Sean Astin when I watched BoB.

Man, I guess we can't feel too sorry for the TB Rays these days, but it has to be a little frustrating watching Hamilton get his act together and then shine, way too late to do them any good. But it's an awesome story.

Now watch his swing get totally jacked up from the HR Derby for the balance of the season.

I happened to be in our company's kitchen when he was hitting these things and yeah they were monsters. The only thing I've ever seen that came close was watching Albert Pujols hit BP fastballs off the back wall of the left-field bullpen at Dodger Stadium.
