There's a building body of work surrounding Moneyball and Moneyball-as-proxy for sabermetrics. Today, Steven Goldman wrote an article that stands with Joe Sheehan's 2000 Manifesto and Dayn Perry's "Beer and Tacoes" piece. It should be sent to every team at every level, to every coach and every player. Next time someone questions you on why you look at numbers or at baseball in an objective, scientific fashion, pull this out and educate them. I'm proud to be associated with a writer and a person like Steve.
